Challenge
The client needed a scalable parking management system capable of real-time occupancy sensing across dozens of bays, with zero-configuration sensor deployment and a web dashboard operators could use without training. Existing solutions required dedicated cabling to every bay — prohibitively expensive to retrofit.
Solution
We deployed ESP32-based LoRaWAN sensor nodes, each battery-powered and provisioned via QR code. Nodes report occupancy state every 30 seconds over a private LoRaWAN network. A Next.js dashboard exposes 80+ REST APIs for occupancy queries, historical analytics, and alert configuration. The QR provisioning flow reduces sensor setup to under two minutes per bay.
Outcome
Full deployment took 85% less time compared to the client's previous wired system. Operators can manage the entire lot from a browser tab. The sensor network has run reliably for over 12 months without a single hardware replacement.
